We often refer to saddles having an "integrated panel" on our website but we discovered some people don't know what we are talking about!
So here it is. . . an integrated panel refers to the panel of the saddle (the padded part that contacts your horse's back) being directly joined the sweat flap of the saddle - versus the sweat flap laying on top of the panel. An integrated panel gives the rider a closer feel by eliminating a layer of leather between the rider and the horse and by allowing the saddle to lay closer to the horse's ribcage.
In the first photo below, we see the integrated panel configuration on a Devoucoux, while in the second photo we see the classic "panel with sweat flap overlay" configuration on a Devoucoux.
