We've made buying a saddle at Old Dominion Saddlery as rider friendly as possible! Once you've selected the saddle you want, add it to your cart. Use our secure payment system to pay via major credit card or Paypal. Saddle shipping to you is FREE! Once you have received the saddle, you have 7 days to try it, ride in it, and love it, or just ship it back to us by the end of the 7th day!
Need a little longer? Keep the saddle up to 14 days and only be assessed a $85 restocking fee, if you ship it out by the end of the 14 day. Saddles kept past the 14 day mark are considered final sales.
Please note we do not offer returns on accessories. All accessories are considered final sales. Accessories are shipped in USPS flat rate boxes for a flat fee.
Your trial is your time to look over the saddle, and check fit for you and your horse. You are welcome to have any of our saddles inspected by your fitter or trainer but no alterations can be done during trial. We trust that you will treat our saddle with the same care and attention that we do, and return it in its original condition. If the saddle becomes damaged while in your possession, the saddle cannot be returned for a refund. Damaged saddles returned to us will be sent back to you at your expense, and the charge for your saddle will remain on your credit card.

Yes! We take trade-ins of French brands we carry and Tad Coffins. Send us clear photos of your trade, as well as one of the stamp, and we can give you a trade in value against any saddle we have in stock!
Yes, we take saddles on consignment! Brands we carry include Antares, Butet, Delgrange, Devoucoux, CWD, Meyer, Voltaire, and Tad Coffin. We charge 20% to sell your saddle and offer return customers a discounted rate of 17.5%.
When you send a saddle on consignment we manage all aspects of the sale: photographing, marketing, sending on trial, and collecting payment. Checks are mailed to customers approximately 3 weeks after a saddle is sold. This allows for saddle shipping time and for the customer to fully utilize our trial options.
If you would like to send your saddle on consignment, simple email or text clear photographs of both sides of the saddle, the stamp, and any areas of wear or stains. We can then give you an estimate of a retail sale price. We will market your saddle at the agreed upon price for 60 days. After that we will place your saddle on sale, discounting the saddle up to 20%. Saddles not sold after 6 months will be returned to the consignee at our expense. If you wish to have your saddle returned prior to the 6 month date, simply send us a UPS shipping label and we will box it up and return it!
Need to sell your saddle right now? Old Dominion Saddlery will buy your quality used French saddle or Tad Coffin from you for cash! Text or email us a full set of clear, current pictures - stamp, each side, top, front, back and underneath - and we will make you an offer. Ship your saddle to us and we will send you a check! It's that easy!
To send us a saddle, please use the smallest, sturdiest box possible, and please, NO PACKING PEANUTS! If your saddle has a cover, wrap the pommel and cantle in some bubble wrap and that is sufficient. If your saddle does not have a cover, we recommend a coat of bubble wrap around the entire saddle. We strive to be an environmentally responsible company and we will reuse or recycle all of your packing material - so if it puts your mind at ease to use more cushioning, please make sure we can reuse or recycle it!!!
Please insure and track your package but DO NOT request a signature for delivery. We strongly recommend UPS as our preferred carrier.
